Network Rail Positive on Modern Railways RVE

Network Rail and the associated train operating companies are confident that Derby resignalling works will cause no issues for visitors to next week’s Modern Railways RVE Show.
Derby Resignalling work will still be taking place through next week (although ends on 7th October) but most of the area’s train service has already returned to normal.

All CrossCountry services, Derby to Crewe and Derby to Nottingham are back to normal and the only minor issues outstanding are that there are buses operating between Derby and Matlock and a reduced train service of one train per hour between Derby and London. These services start and finish at Derby.

The programme is part of a £200million project to improve journeys to and through Derby station and involves a new platform, new track and new signalling.

Full details of the project and current timetables can be found at www.derby2018.co.uk
