Conference programme confirmed

The full conference programme for Modern Railways RVE 2018 has now been confirmed. We are delighted to have a diverse set of six speakers representing manufacturers, leasing companies, consultancies, research organisations and technology firms presenting at the show on 4 October at the Derby Arena.

The morning session of the conference will feature a variety of presentations on rolling stock developments. Alex Burrows, Director at the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education, will kick off the programme discussing the centre’s work, followed by Rainer Froeschlin of Red Lion Controls talking about digital transformation. The session concludes with Eversholt Rail’s Tim Burleigh outlining the leasing company’s current approach in a changing market.

In the afternoon the focus will turn to Derby, with papers from three firms based in the city. Bombardier’s Services Business Lead Sarah Reid opens the session, followed by Porterbrook’s Head of Procurement Anvesh Prasad discussing the company’s approach to partnership and finally SNC-Lavalin’s Giles Pettit outlining the firm’s work around legacy fleets.

The conference will be chaired by Modern Railways ‘Pan Up’ columnist and rolling stock specialist Ian Walmsley, known equally for his expertise and wit. The list of speakers, the titles of their talks and the schedule for the conference can be found at https://bit.ly/2N8kd8e.
