More than 50 companies attended the Modern Railways/Rail Forum Midlands RVE BigIdea industry briefing on 15 July.
RVE BigIdea seeks to match suppliers with 18 major companies at the Modern Railways RVE show in Derby on 4 November, with core themes of accessibility, asset optimisation, decarbonisation and productivity. These key areas will be vital as the railway recovers from the Covid pandemic and enters the new era of Great British Railways.
A wide range of customers – Alstom, Angel Trains, Arriva TrainCare, CAF, DB, First, Freightliner, Gemini Rail Group, Hitachi, Loram UK, Nottingham Express Transit, Siemens, Stadler, Talgo, Transport Design International, Transport for London and Unipart Rail – will review applications for dedicated one-to-one sessions at Modern Railways RVE.
Applications open on 13 September with a deadline of 24 September for entries. Customer selections will be made on 15 October, with schedules issued on 24 October.
Entry is free to Rail Forum members and Modern Railways RVE exhibitors, with a £150 administration fee for other companies.
Rail Forum Midlands Chief Executive Elaine Clark said: ‘Interest in RVE BigIdea has been fantastic from the start and to see so many companies attend our briefing is immensely encouraging as the rail industry moves forward into a bold new future. Innovations in the event’s core areas will be critical to make the most of rail’s tremendous environmental, social and economic credentials.’
Modern Railways Editor Philip Sherratt added: ‘RVE BigIdea is a brand new opportunity for suppliers to get their industry-future proofing products in front of some of the most important and influential companies in the rail industry. Any company with potentially breakthrough innovations really should get their entry in as soon as applications open.’
